Walking with people through life's joys and, sorrows, trials and triumphs, whether ordinary or extraordinary, has been a sacred privilege. I treasure these invitations of trust and safe passage. For more than 25 years of ministry in a variety of settings, these human connections are the bedrock and the springboard of my work as pastor and psychotherapist.
In those moments when people have invite me into
...tightly held secrets,
...dark corners too frightening to enter alone,
...tension wound to the point of explosion,
...fears unspoken but believed,
I am honored and sense God's mysterious presence.
My theological and clinical practice is grounded in the belief that every human being has within herself/himself the capacity for healthy living. Circumstances, physical conditions, emotional crises or environmental factors can create stress that can thwart stability. Therapy or Life Coaching can assist in regaining a balanced life or making significant change to improve life.
In working with individuals, couples or families, I draw from the therapeutic styles of narrative, existential, emotionally focused and systemic family system theory. I also value and seek God's imminent presence in personal and interpersonal relationships, including the therapeutic relationship of therapist and client(s).
